This page explains how to commission me for a digital illustration. For a woven tapestry commission, please look at the instructions here.

There are currently five illustration slots open. First come, first served.

icon illustration ($30)

simple square drawing of you or your character from the shoulders up (or a single object like a plant) for your social media icon. choose plain or doodle background. 3000×3000 pixels at 300 dpi unless otherwise requested.

standard illustration ($80)

one detailed full body person, character, animal, or other subject on a plain or doodle background. can include an unlimited number of outfit elements, as long as you describe them or include a reference. 3000×4500 pixels at 300 dpi unless otherwise requested.

additional subject(s) (+$40)

add an extra person, character, or animal to a standard commission.

add a closeup of an object (+$10)

add a detailed closeup of an object, separate from your character. great for key weapons, items, and accessories on character ref sheets.

add a detailed background (+50)

put yourself or your characters in a richly detailed environment. for standard commissions only.

EXAMPLES

standard = $80

standard with doodle background = $80

My commissions are great for:

  • cute, brightly colored icons and/or headers for your social media
  • fan art of your favorite characters in scenarios of your choosing
  • D&D parties
  • portraits of couples
  • portraits of pets
  • unique gifts for friends and family
  • reference sheets for your original character

If you’re picturing a piece of art in a format not mentioned here (e.g. a page of themed doodles, a short comic, a drawing of a single flower or an editorial illustration), let me know and we can work out a price!

STEPS

To start the commission process, email me at [email protected] with the subject line “digital illustration commission” and the following information in the body:

  • the type of commission you’d like, including the number of subjects
  • the general layout & any poses you have in mind
  • what color background you’d like, preferably as an image (like a cropped screenshot) or a hex code. a description also works. if you don’t have a color preference, I’ll pick one for you.
  • whether you’d like a plain, doodle, or detailed background. you can ask for a particular doodle (like sparkles, hearts, clouds, grid, etc) for no extra cost. for a fully detailed background (+$50), include a thorough description or photo reference.
  • additional references (see below)

For original characters, please include either a detailed written description of their traits & what you’d like in the drawing, or a couple reference drawings. Or both, if possible!

For portraits & icons of real people (you and/or your loved ones) and pets, I recommend including a photo reference. Use images you own yourself or have obtained permission to use.

For illustrations of plants, minerals, etc., if you don’t have a specific layout in mind, you can just let me know what elements you’d like in the drawing and I’ll create a layout for you. If you do want a certain layout, please include a doodle.

Turnaround time is two weeks! I’ll check in with you at the line art, flat color, and rendered stages to see if you’d like any edits. The final piece will be sent as a digital png file via email, unless another file type is requested.

Payment is expected up front through PayPal (I will send you an invoice), with no refunds.

I will not draw:

  • blood and gore
  • explicit sexual content (suggestive is okay)
  • content depicting or promoting racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or pedophilia
  • anything else I am not comfortable with—I reserve the right to refuse commissions
